Edit: I do not understand why I am getting downvoted here? It should be fairly obvious that this is not a sexual thing? Do people disagree with it being beautiful?

We couldn’t breastfeed our baby, she just wasnt for taking it, so we had to use bottles.

Worked out great for me because feeding my baby felt like a kind of magic.

When my wife was breastfeeding, I was told my grandfather was quite old fashioned in his views on breastfeeding (it should be done in private. At a family gathering, my wife went off to another room, to not make him feel uncomfortable. Shortly afterwards, we realised my grandfather had noticed she was missing, and went to keep her company. He would rather feel uncomfortable himself than let my wife feel pushed out. (He was completely unaware of the previous discussions)

Dad or not, I’ve found it’s all about your facial expression in determining whether the feeder finds someone watching to be creepy or not. That’s why whenever I see a woman breastfeeding, I abruptly stop whatever I’m doing, open my eyes as wide as possible, stare directly, unblinking, and start slowly nodding encouragingly, so they know that I approve, while a big, toothy grin blossoms on my face to make it further known that I find the sight beautiful. Then I add a thumbs up at the end, once my grin is as wide as possible, just to make it all official.

Surprisingly I think it may actually accelerate the feeding process, because the mothers always stop breastfeeding soon after I finish non-verbally communicating that I find what they’re doing to be beautiful, in a non-creepy way. Humans are amazing! 😍

She’s so soothed by your support that her milk flowed more freely. You’re doing a real service and should be commended.

There are places on this planet where mothers just breastfeed in public and nobody cares. There are places where they only do it in private. And then there are places where it’s something in between. Some do it in private because they don’t want creepy stares. Some dgaf any more because they haven’t slept for longer than an hour at a time since giving birth. More reasons exist for either preference.

You laid the creepy landmine yourself so that’s the most likely explanation for any down vote. Also, as a young parent you will learn that nobody cares about your thoughts on parenthood outside of a small circle of close family and friends. The same applies to being shown pictures, or worse, videos of your kid.

Any slightly controversial post illustrated with an image has the look of attempted rage bait too.

Do people disagree with it being beautiful?

I guess I disagree. I just see it as some necessary function, not something beautiful. That said, I also don’t find other functional things “beautiful”, like bridges or waterfalls or whatever. But some people do for whatever reason.

i see behaviors that encourage survival that have been reinforced by millenia of evolution

one could call this an “emotional connection” i guess but emotions themselves are very purpose oriented

Humans are emotional creatures and make life or death decisions based on them. It’s a flawed system, but it has worked adequately so far. For example, taking care of the people in your tribe boils down to emotions. This sort of cohesion keeps the tribe together and safe, so I would consider that a successful survival mechanisim.

I read this persons comment, and like, I met a guy once who didnt appreciate music. Music

He was the biggest film head Ive ever met, but didnt feel anything for music. Thats what this persons comment reminded me of. Some people are just different. I dont veiw death the same way a lot of folks do. If they dont feel nothing about a mom breast feeding, thats absolutely fine. I didnt feel much for it myself, and I nursed for 16months. If I had to do it again, I dont want to do it again.

its always going to be uncomfortable for me but im a heterosexual guy and a boob man at that. Ultimately that my problem to deal with though. Generally given the special clothes and mosdesty doodads that pretty much all women use with it in public its not that bad. Just makes it wierd to look in the direction. like im invading their privacy. Its kinda funny the way the brain is.

I think you’re still allowed to do this without being a dad without it being creepy, FYI. I hope you didn’t throw your life away on children just to be able to do this because you thought it made you look like a creep otherwise! I mean, that would be crazy right?

EDIT: Thinking further on this-- Like, only a creep would admit that misplaced sexual energy, right? I mean, I’ve never looked at a woman breastfeeding a child and wanted to jerk it.

EDIT2: To be fair, if she were breastfeeding two other hot women or dudes or whatever. Adults. Doing adult play fetish things. I’d probably jerk it. But like, those streams shouldn’t cross, yo.

Dude read what you said. You’re like happy you can gawk your wife put the boob to your baby’s face or some shit. Its weird, and theres no way to word it that sounds how you intend.

You can’t word that to not sound creepy. We get it, its encapsulates all micro and macros and the cycles of the universe, but you can’t say “I like to watch my baby be breastfed” without sounding a little creepy.

I mean… breastfeeding is a natural part of human and mammal existence. If you see it happening as a father or relative, then you’re seeing a sign that things seem to be going healthily and relatively happily.

You also have to remember that what was likely part of your earlier attraction to your mate (reproductive organs) can later be seen in a completely different light. The breasts as a mechanism of nourishment, and of course the birth canal, delivering new life (and your personal offspring) in to the world.

So in these cases, there’s a sense of transformation of one’s viewpoint. Which can indeed be impressive, breathtaking, and yeah… beautiful. I don’t see any reason any of that would necessarily be “creepy” for the person having that experience.

Liking to watch the mother of your child care for that child, is not creepy. He didnt say he liked watching all women breastfeed, he said he liked watching his wife nurturing their baby, and exressed a change in world view on the supject, which is pretty cool.

Got it. So just strip away all that relevant context and pretend that it’s some babies-breastfeeding fetish, and not actually father-child-mother related.

So here’s a question-- would you say you’ve personally graduated from a certain horndog phase of younger life, one in which it’s all too easy to view women as objects? And are you a father yourself?

Hmm… Why is it weird? Is this some puritanical breasts = sex thing?

It’s the most natural thing in the world. A newborn having a loving moment with its mom. Watching breastfeeding does not necessarily entail “gawking” at the breast itself.
