Edit: I do not understand why I am getting downvoted here? It should be fairly obvious that this is not a sexual thing? Do people disagree with it being beautiful?

Got it. So just strip away all that relevant context and pretend that it’s some babies-breastfeeding fetish, and not actually father-child-mother related.

So here’s a question-- would you say you’ve personally graduated from a certain horndog phase of younger life, one in which it’s all too easy to view women as objects? And are you a father yourself?

You’re trying really really hard to shame me here or something. But go for it dude. Be mad I said that. Have at it. Because it is true. “Oh yay I can finally watch my wife breastfeed the baby!” Just enjoy your child, no need to announce that you can finally watch them eat like a thorn has been removed from your side. Either way, the post is weird. I have seen all of my.kids breastfeed and never felt the need to announce it, or say anything at all about it. Its weird to do that.

When my tits were full back in the day, I could squirt milk across the room. I just made an image in my head squirting you with breast milk, mid way through your words here, and had a good laugh.

Let people engage with the content man. Why you gatekeeping expressions of joy?

I’m not aware of anyone here trying “really hard to shame you.” Sorry if I came on too strong there, mate.

I have seen all of my.kids breastfeed and never felt the need to announce it, or say anything at all about it. Its weird to do that.

Alright, 'preciate your honesty, there. So evidently you never felt your attitude about breastfeeding transform from pre-fatherhood to post-fatherhood, is that correct? But yeah, I can definitely understand not every dad having that journey of sorts, and that’s just how that works.

As for being ‘weird,’ I can certainly understand how some might feel that way (just look at the vote score!), but to me, I rather appreciated OP’s thoughts in a place which is of course “ShowerThoughts” and nothing more remarkable than that. I actually do admire the honesty and bit of bravery by OP saying that, especially as it gets back to what I mentioned earlier-- the transformative qualities of being in long relationships.

If that’s still not making sense, part of what I’m trying to get at is that when we’re young, our hormones tend to have a major role in our mutual attraction, and then in the child-raising phase, things can shift considerably, and we can see each other with amazingly different eyes. Including ‘sexual’ matters. And then, as we age, our romantic relationships can shift in many ways in terms of nuance of friendship. And for sure, sadly or unsadly, we can also grow shockingly apart from someone we once loved dearly.

Bah. Mini-essay that nobody needed to hear… XD

Lot of assumptions here. I’m on my 4th, whatever desensitization you think I haven’t been through I have. It doesn’t make this any less weird. My girl would look at me like I’m weird if I said “Y’know babe I just love watching you breastfeed, its so beautiful”. Its just one of those things you appreciate and dont bother putting into words because that makes it weird. Some things dont need to be expressed through words, and those same things definitely come across as weird when posted about online to share with everyone. Thats what I mean, the act of breastfeeding itself or even just seeing it isn’t weird. Its the announcement and speaking of it that mangles the moment.

This says so much more about you, than OP. Its not a bad thing you feel this way for you, but everyone is different. Your wife thinking its a weird thing, doesnt mean his wife will find it wierd. Maybe they are bonding over it.

I absolutely hated nursing, but I can understand someone else enjoying it. ya know?

True enough, upon many things indeed…

I mean, different people handle the vagaries of childhood differently. Different people handle the intrinsic beauty of the female form differently, and sometimes words are best not spoken, as you say. Perhaps indeed my mind got corrupted (and expanded) about all this by a certain set of fine, memorable gentlemen, one of which managed to put out a certain song!
