It’s a very British style protest. Farage tried to turn an investigation/resignation/bielection into a media circus. The larger parties instead stepped aside to let the clown in to deal with him.

Mexico had a wrestler run (and win!).

I think it was in relation to having private tutors.
The rich had a private education, with a few years at “public school” to make contacts and learn to socialise with their peers.
It predated universal education systems.

Didn’t Mexico have a similar issue a year or so ago?
Someone ran and was elected under his mexican wrestling persona. He attended parliament with his mask on. He insisted, since he was elected under his masked persona, he would attend parliament under it.
He originally did it because cartels had targeted MPs, and he ran on an anti cartel manifesto.

I’m in 2 minds on this. It reads (and looks) like the police were dealing with deliberate civil disobedience, against a legal event. (Yes I feel dirty describing it like that, but it’s true).
Looking at the video, it looks like a twitch response that they reigned in immediately. The police officer had protestors all around him and was likely feeling defensive. It shouldn’t have happened, but it was a quick human/training failure.
As for the police stopping them at all. The best we can hope for now, is for the police being neutral. I would hope that the police would step in, if it was a bunch of right wingers trying to invade a gay pride event. It’s hard to argue the reverse, when the shoe is on the other foot.
And just to clarify, I’m well on the side of the protestors here. It’s just one of the things you need to accept if you’re pushing the law. I’ve played run-around with the police at protests myself before (years back now, unfortunately). I knew the police had to oppose us, and accepted that fact.

Margaret Thatcher was an absolute bitch. However, at least she had a spine.
Apparently, after the Falklands war, she personally wrote a personalised apology letter to the family of every UK soldier killed.
There are arsehole leaders who I can at least respect. Trump is not one of them.

European budget airlines split it in 3. Checked luggage (in the hold), Cabin bag (in the overhead locker) and personal bag (under the seat, with your legs). Everything other than personal is charged for. They also make it difficult it just get the bag, not a whole package.
It’s gotten to the point it’s pissed off the EU and they are cracking down on it
Np, and thank you! Apparently it’s been 3 years since I jumped ship from Reddit.
Massively appreciated. I almost deleted my post before posting it.
Executive dysfunction is a bitch, but not actually too bad on its own. It’s when you either can’t control around it, or don’t know you need/how too that it really fucks you over.
I definitely feel your pain on that one. My partner works in teaching had a similar issue (they also have ADHD). Their work were amazing. A quick comment to HR, and they got moved to a duel office, with someone of a similar mindset. They were proactive in trying to help more.
They’ve also (with their permission) started referring students with ADHD to them. Apparently just having someone in authority who just understands can make a huge difference.
We are clawing in some level of control. I just wish the process wasn’t so slow, but it’s improving. Hopefully you’ll be able to figure out a solution, or jump to a company that actually recognises that accommodations help with productivity (and sanity), and so help the company too.
It unable Vs unwilling. Trump has shown he’s perfectly capable of motivating himself to do stuff. He just doesn’t bother.
Laziness is sitting on the sofa watching TV, ignoring other required tasks.
ADHD is sitting the on the sofa watching TV, internally stressing over the tasks that need doing, but you just don’t get up.
Externally they look almost identical, but the internal cause is quite different. Trump is lazy
FYI, the difference is what fucks up people with ADHD who are told they are lazy. The motivation methods for laziness don’t work well on ADHD. Pre diagnosis, I thought I was lazy, because I couldn’t reach my potential. The internal stress I put myself under actually caused me heart issues. They went away when I went into complete burnout post university. It took over 6 months for me to become even particularly functional, and I never fully recovered mentally.
Sorry for the rant, the comparison hit a nerve. ☹️

The leopard stuck its face into an industrial cheese grater. Then complained it attacked first.
It’s the shift from compulsory education to elective. You’re now in school because you want to be, not because you have to be. The attitude of teachers changes a lot.
In my school, it also shifted from a school uniform to “business”. It felt like an epic transformation.

It’s worth noting that combining the relativistic correction factor into mass is actually quite problematic. It’s a vector (directional), while mass is scalar(directionless). You suddenly need to ask what direction your mass is. Furthermore, a hypothetical person on the ship will still measure their inertial mass as normal.
As it stands, it would take an infinite amount of energy to reach the speed to light, but you can get arbitrarily close to it, with a finite amount (huge, but finite).
It’s a combination of factors. Language/cultural barriers are a big one. What is obviously sarcasm in your area of the world won’t necessarily make sense in another. Add in English as a second language, and it’s a crap shoot, even with an obvious joke.
The lack of tonal queues is also a problem. We communicate a lot via voice tone and body language. Without them, what is obvious to you can be read completely differently.
The last is the elephant in the room. Bigots dog whistling. I’ve seen too many “obviously sarcastic” jokes that are very much not sarcastic in a different group. When those people get called out, they fall back on “it’s just a joke”, the armour of arseholes the world over. By adding the /s preemptively, you rob them of cover to spread hate. It’s a variant of the nazi bar problem.
They also happen to be a (retired) nurse themselves. It’s uncommon, but not that uncommon. Most nurses would have seen it before. Its only for 5-10 seconds after waking up. Coming from a relatively skinny woman is quite a bit more unexpected. She also has unusually good aim.
I know someone who has had quite a few general anesthetics. They’ve taken to warning the nurses involved that they are a puncher. Several have not taken it seriously and ended up with some impressive bruises (including black eyes).
The bacteria don’t need to be identical.
Think of it like rolling a dice. Any given roll can only have a single number. However patterns can be detected by combining multiple rolls. E.g. a biased dice.
As for larger things. It’s possible, but the speed required goes up with mass, and not linearly. In theory a person could go through. They would be moving a significant fraction of the speed of light however. Catching them alive on the other side would be… difficult.
Only 1 bacteria ever arrives. It’s the probability wave that interferes with itself.
With the Young’s double slit experiment, if you fire a single photon, you get a single photon arriving. It looks just like how a cannon ball flies. It’s only when you let hundreds go (either collectively or individually) that the interference pattern appears.

The end pattern is the probability that the photon (or bacteria) arrives at any given point on the receiver screen.
Anything moving has an associated wavelength. If that wavelength is long enough, you can do the young’s double slip experiment on it.
It was a few years ago, so the details are hazy. A scientific team accelerated a particularly small and sturdy bacteria fast enough that their speed produced a viable wavelength. They then sent the stream through 2 slits. They then captured the bacteria in aerogel (I think) to slow them back down.
Most didn’t survive, but some both survived, and ended up somewhere they couldn’t without interfering with themselves. They successfully reproduced afterwards. The debris also followed the classic ripple pattern of the experiment.
Basically, there is nothing special about “life” when it comes to quantum mechanical effects, other than it’s on the big side.
They are technically slightly different terms. Someone can be homeless by choice. They could also be homeless, but have somewhere to stay (e.g. a shelter). Rough sleeping refers to people who have to sleep outside, without it being a choice on their part.
The term has had a lot of creep. It’s akin to how the word retarded changed from a medical description to an insult.
