Wait 30 years and get the DLC for free.
I usually just wait until the price is 50% off. Because that’s the point when the full-price beta testers are done and the game is playable.

park two semis accross the highway
wait for ‘chaos’ to ensue
hit the traffic limit and cars stop coming
“realistic”
The veil is thin, boys
You forgot: Wait a decade til you can afford a computer that can run it.
Pirate it. So you’re sure to have it forever saved in a compact file and be able to play with it many years from now. Safe from any enshittification shenanigans.

This is the way
Relevant xkcd:
Oi. “The cake was a lie” is still hot.
There’s so many games out there now and my backlog is so extensive that I honestly don’t care waiting years to get a game on super sale or straight up free.
more like play a slew of free games you already have til it becomes free.
we really are spoiled for choice these days in games.
Is GTA 5 any good? And GOG rocks.
Btw, i also have 0.1 version delay on Rimworld. Because mods.
You can just steal it
I’m still holding out for Baldur’s Gate 3. I’ll even pay a tenner for it.
I pirated it, beat it within a week, and then bought it because I still had another couple hundred hours of things I wanted to experiment with, as well as play co-op.
It’s worth the price.
I have played it so much honor mode is almost trivially easy. Well, after act 1 anyway. Ragzlin has ended more than one run. Usually because I used the horn and those fucking ogres draw the entire place in to a fight.
I’d love to replay it but no matter how many mods I install the story’s always the fucking same. exact same problem I had with DOS2; adding legendary items made the gameplay more fun but ultimately same conclusion… think I need to wait years between modded playthroughs so I can enjoy the story again (or try the roguelike mod)
The overall plot, there is a worm in your head and you need to stop the BBEG from invading the city and killing everyone doesn’t change, no.
The stories with the individual characters change dramatically based on your choices. That’s the main reason I kept playing through it. Needed to see what happens if I let Gail have the crown, needed to see if I could save Karlach. Wanted to let Lae’zel take the lead and see what happens. What if I’m the dark urge but don’t want to be? Lots of different small stories.
The problem is, I nailed it the first time so it’s hard to change the story meaningfully without ruining it. Tried to do a dark urge playthrough, and

almost immediately, my friend ate Gale.
I can’t live like this.
yeah that’s totally fair. there’s a lot of intricate details and I love Larian for that, but none of them are significant enough to make me play another 100-hour campaign where everything else is the same.
it’s a flaw with me, not the game; I just hate doing the same thing over and over, which is why I can’t get into FromSoft games.
It’s onr of these games that i know is worth the money, but there is sucb a high chance that i fall off after 4 hours that it’s too much for me. Need for speed games are all like 3 to 5 dollars now on steam. The perfect amount of money
So, steal it, if you don’t get hooked, that’s cool. If you do, you should pay for it. It’s genuinely great.
Exactly. I have a huge backlog of unplayed games. Paying $60 to add it to the pile seems wasteful.
I’ve purchased it once on Xbox and once on Steam. I think you can just pirate it without any qualms. I can just tell Larian I gifted you a copy.
👍
