      I wish that was the case, I am starting to see it sneak in more and more over there as well. It’s even more awkward, as they will pre-add a 10-15% tip and then you have to ask for it to be removed. Can’t we just pay people a living wage and end tipping all together? Yes, at least in the US a whole lot of restaurants will fail, but they should. Businesses that can’t pay people what they deserve need to go the way of the dodo.

        I agree, let them fail. How many Italian, Mexican, American slop houses do we need all selling sodexho garbage shit food

      There is a tipping culture, there’s just no tipping for the bare minimum service of taking an order and bringing the ordered food to the table.

        I was just in Paris and Amsterdam and no tipping needed. You could, but it definitely wasn’t forced like it is here. Servers would often remind us it wasn’t required.
