They’re still very common over on the east side of the state, but they lose the pretense of “bikini” and go straight to “lingerie.” I think twice a week they even exchange a standard lingerie top for pasties.

As open as i am with sexuality and how this sounds awesome on paper, I don’t even think I could bring myself to stopping by one of these just out of anxiety. It’s just not the mindset i want to be in when getting something as simple as a coffee lol.

I thought Tampa (or Clearwater?) was the “stripper capital” of the US.

Its a really weird variant of a strip bar. It kind of makes the prostitution angle of stripping more difficult because of the logistics of the cars and the coffee huts. No dark corners like strip bars as they are just tiny drive thru buildings. In sure shit still happens, but less than usual. Likely safer for the sex workers too.

The window is always turned away from the road, likely by law.

Oddly, its almost a puritanical strip club where people pay $20 for a coffee and 5 minutes of attention from a stripper. It’s like if hooters was more blatantly a strip club, but wouldn’t commit to it.

I think the pretense of bikini was left by the wayside almost immediately when these types of coffee stands came around haha
