If I see you use AI in your ads, I will not buy your product.

Block all ads. Look away and go ‘lalala’ loud enough to cover them when they are shown. Ban advertising. Slap the shit out of anyone who tells you they work in ‘marketing’ and call them the traitor to humanity they are. Marketers are the fraudsters sucking the profit out of businesses and the humanity out of human decision-making, thus an enemy to capitalists, communists, and anarchists alike.

I recently subscribed to Dropout even though I don’t use any streaming service. I was thinking about it yesterday, and if Sam revealed AI art during an episode of Game Changer I really do think he would lose at least half of his subscribers.

How do you even see ads at all? Must’ve been years since I last saw an ad (well, except brand names written on athletes/events shirts/backgrounds I guess…)

Every time I vacation at a relative’s house, it is excruciating seeing how the average person lives just voluntarily watching ads all the time. Even when I tip them off that they could have UBO within the next 60 seconds in the browser they are already using, it’s no good they just say “Oh, I’m fine like this.”

Oh trust me, even if you block them via pihole/DNS, use Unlock Origin, Sponsorblock ect… you still run into ads when family members show you crap off their phones or TVs.

I will say, the only time I see ads on my own devices are on Twitch. It is so jarring when it happens. I almost never see ads, but Twitch seems to have figured out how to bypass everything I set up. If anyone happens to know how I can fix it, let me know! It’s literally the only website I can see ads on and it’s bothering me!

Twitch ads can be bypassed on pc via experemental ublock filters + firefox (in my experience chromium browsers even with mv2 support can’t block twitch ads), but sometimes player can crash

Twitch does not show ads in certain countries. I set my VPN to Bulgaria if I want to watch twitch.

Luckily, all family members have the same setup I have.

I love posts like these because it’s posted by people that absolutely won’t actually do that. They likely consume tons of products currently using AI in ads

To be clear, fuck AI. But that doesn’t make it less stupid/funny

Lemmy is one of the few places where people actually may boycott stuff. I would certainly put effort into boycotting a company with AI ads, though it would be very unlikely I would see the ads in the first place.

What if the ad has a valid perspective but the format is just derivative?
