Yeaaaaaa … I try to do that but if I feel a single cold drop my body is just reflexively like " fuck that" and turning the valve before I even know what’s happening.
I heard its better for your hair if you wash it warm and rinse with cold water.

There are some claimed benefits of cold showers that don’t really hold up, as far as I understood. Like for muscle growth after a workout for example. And for waking you up, any shower will do that to you. Even a splash of water in your face. 👍
It’s a myth because hot shower wakes you up just as good. Just today I blasted myself with hot shower after rough sleep and I got that “wow” feeling in how quickly I seemingly opened my eyes and felt fine
Idk, too enjoyable for me. I need it to be uncomfortable to get the waking up effect. But then I like and can afford slow mornings so I don’t actually need to wake up quickly.
Hot isn’t really comfortable. You gotta constantly move around/rotate otherwise it feels like you’re burning
Warm showers work well at night because the heat evaporates quick, which cools your body down faster, helping to set your body up for sleep

More seriously, for those who didn’t see it or don’t wanna - all we really know is on his card. He works at Pierce and Pierce which deals with mergers and acqusitions. How specifically is unclear - possibly in writing up the legal documents, possibly in just facilitating the meetings.
The real funny part of the cards, though, is that everyone comparing cards is the VP of the company. What that job entails is vague, and the fact that there’s at least 4 people who are all the vice president ambiguates it even further.

Pretty unhealthy for a breakfast. Is he constantly on a workout? Better go with a muesli or high-fibers.

Biscuits and gravy always makes me most productive out of the breakfasts I’ve tried. Nutrition wise… Not so great, but I also don’t need to eat again until dinner time so I guess it’s fine. I rarely have time to make it too.
Skyr with blueberries and a sprinkling of flax seed is a winning high protein breakfast. Add some granola if you want to be naughty.

The premise of Office Space was that they were correcting the Y2K bug. And this description of a small, over-managed, haphazardly administered IT company is a very sincere reflection of how the industry functioned in the 90s. The punchline at the end - where you’ve got Ron Livingston shoveling asphalt with zen satisfaction while Diedrich Bader shakes his head in disgust - really does sum up the Dumb Guy attitude towards bullshit-but-ultimately-pretty-cushy office work of the era. But I wouldn’t say they were doing nothing.
The Office was a reflection of dying backwards industry - in this case, the paper industry in Midwest Pennsylvania - that attract a certain assemblage of idiots and assholes and failkids in its waning days. This was more a story of a historically productive industry dying out.
American Psycho is much more about the Wall Street peak of power and the sadomasochistic personalities that populate it. I think its more comparable to Fight Club, in so far as it’s a story of someone driven insane by the higher end business world and left to discover how thin the veneer is between civilization and barbarity.
They were pretty clear with the job for Office Space, they worked for a bank/financial institution and had to update the software for Y2K so the years could accommodate 4 digits. That’s why they were able to take push an exploit that allowed them to keep the rounded penny in a transition for their scheme, which may or may not have been inspired by Superman III.
They worked for a software company that made banking software. But yeah, he had 7 different bosses that would complain about the same thing. What we never found out was if he was dotted-line to multiple depts, or if the bureaucracy was so heavy that the structure was something like Team Leader > Manager > Director > Asst VP > VP > Division VP…and these people all come to him to point something out.
