I love how toxic she is to corporate professionalism.
Its also perfect marketing, the software is free with the mascot hardcoded in. The official way to change it is to contribute to get an enterprise version.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•People with terminal illnesses/in their last days should be allowed to have any drugs they want.
10·23 days agoPeople in this thread are romanticising end of life as frolicking happily at a party one moment and slipping away in a magical slumber the next.
Most likely you’d be in bed either crying fo pain meds or asleep after having been given pain meds.
I too would, from where i am now love the idea of my consciousness slipping away while tripping on dmt but i recognize that once the time comes i may not desire nor care anymore.

16·24 days agoI will never not feel sadness towards the loss of life, if not just for the people around them that mourn.
But I can’t say much value was lost. Every child death in gaza had more potential to create value then whoever this was.

351·29 days agoHe is in the files with context being about his attendance to a scientific conference.
There is a viral picture of him and some women in a bikini at a party but those where verified to be his staff/caregivers.
Everyone who had contact with Epstein deserves scrutiny and should be included in investigations but simply being in the files is in no way proof of wrongdoing on its own.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•We're not far from "have your AI call my AI" being a thing people say.
31·1 month agoSpeak for yourself, i am terrified of phone calls.
Don’t like many parts of how ai is killing social contact but this one very specific part, yes please.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•If my sleep schedule is fucked up and I woke up in the afternoon, should I even sleep for the night and feel very sad because I had no time to do anything, or just stay up to "reclaim" the lost time?
13·1 month agoA lot depends on your daytime obligations.
If you have a job during the weekdays, go to bed earlier that evening.
If you are un or self-employed and don’t need to be anywhere there is nothing inherently wrong with having a unique schedule. Some people do have a biorhythms that makes them more awake and focused at night. Sleepy around noon, evolved from our ancestors needing people who stay on watch at the fire.
Then there is also a long list of famous historic people who had very unique schedules with multiple smaller sleep times around the day.
The tricky part thou is when you suddenly do get daytime obligations and have to conform back to societal sleep standards.

25·2 months agoAs long as the platform can pretend there are no children it doesn’t need to provide safety features for them. Thats what this is about.
Adults can be exploited more freely and legally. As a bonus they are getting more personal information of having you provide proof that you are of exploitable age.
That kids will fake it will be blamed on the parents and not them.
Operation Ajax remembers
Once detail is removed it can never be restored faithfully. Ai can generate details and an individual may not detect much difference but in direct comparison it will be different.
If you somehow include the details as data all combined in a compressed format you save space but the result is not a lower res, but a lossless compressed native res in which case upscaling is irrelevant.

8·3 months agoYou joke but dynamic content based on site, user settings would be so damn cool and a great accessibility feature.
Granted it may take more data but there is so much more we can do with digital media than just static pictures.
Id love if pictures showed some actual buttons when you hovered over them that can change to a readable font. Feature an explanatory description (or easter egg) Copy parts of the text or link to the oc source.

3·3 months agoSlapstick and other silent humor: “Am i a not a joke to you?!”
I have done it. Use controller when in a vehicle and mouse + keyboard outside of it.
But what kind of computer does not have a keyboard connected to it? And wireless mouse/controllers are not much more expensive then wired ones.
Usb hubs aint expensive either. Actually both my keyboard and my monitor come with extra usb hubs build in.
I know its not everywhere but where i live its 100% legal and protected under fair use as long as i don’t distribute outside my household.
Automatic ripping machine has also made things so much easier on my end.
Also, ripping your local libraries dvd collection for personal use is called archiving and depending where you live completely legal.
