I agree but sometimes one does not simply “stop” getting pets. The Cat Distribution System is very effective. That’s how I ended up with a tux a full decade after I said no more pets. I mean how can you say no to this dorky derp?
That is a cute baby, but in my own situation I literally could not afford or accommodate a pet anyway. Plus, If a cat showed up, I would get kicked from my apartment (cameras) if I tried bringing in a animal without first getting their OK. I’d have to get a friend to come pick it up from me outside of the complex.
Yeah once my boys are gone I think I’m done. My girl before them was actually the reason but I already had them when she passed. 13 years young, for a dachshund that is not old, died to an adrenal tumor giving her heart failure. She was still 100% there mentally, it broke me.
Simple solution from someone who has experienced a huge amount of pet death and legitimately find it intolerably horrible: stop getting pets.
