Seriously, why would I ever take the bus to school? That’s where all the bullies were. If my mom couldn’t drive me, my neighbor’s mom would.

memes@lemmy.world•Number on or number off which one do you prefer??
1·5 days agoChange your display scaling in the Developer Options in Android. “Minimum width” or “Smallest width” is the number you want to adjust. Decrease number to increase scaling, increase to decrease until you’re happy and everything is legible.
Yeah I had one such 47" “HD Ready” plasma that did 848x480p. The pixels were so large you could see them but 720p content still looked good on it, and DVDs looked even better than they did on an HDTV due to the similar resolution of 720x480 that they output at. They were so much sharper on a display close to their native resolution.
Remember when 1080i was a thing? Now it’s all but dead beyond broadcast and cable TV (which is pretty much dead).
People used to say that 720p was better because it had a higher vertical resolution at any given moment due to being progressive scan, but IMO 1080i looked sharper for the most part unless there was a lot of motion in the scene. The resolution was high enough that the flickering from the interlaced images didn’t bother me. So I usually went with 1080i over 720p. Sports titles and games with a lot of action were the only time when I would go with 720p.
Seriously, OP is one lucky son if a bitch that they got to go to college, especially if it wasn’t on their own dime. Most of us can’t afford student loans.
It’s common in the US too, given the mashup of different cultures here. I use a different accent depending on whether I’m talking to a black person, a white person, a Latino, a native American, etc. It’s called Code Switching and most people from around the world do it without even realizing it because everyone wants to fit in (however some of us with autism might think it’s silly and refuse; it really depends on the person as to whether or not you do it).
I feel like this mainly applies to Scottish people. I mean the mere fact that they spell the way they speak means that they’re aware that they’re pronouncing everything incorrectly, yet they still do the accent anyway.
The way they have to put so much effort into every word they pronounce seems extremely tiring and stressful on the vocal cords; I wouldn’t blame them for dropping the act once they’re safe and sound at home.
Yes but like I said, you can just block 3rd party cookies in your browser’s settings. Therefore accepting/rejecting doesn’t matter, because the cookies can’t get stored on your machine regardless of what option you pick/ignore. Blocking third party cookies is the same as pressing “reject all”.
Or you can just block all third party cookies in your browser’s settings, then remove the popup with Ublock Origin. You don’t need to consent to cookies when they can’t even get to your machine to begin with!
I solved this problem by simply refusing to look at the clock when I get up in the middle of the night.
Even if it means every in once in a while the alarm goes off the second I lay back down, it’s still a worthwhile tradeoff to remove the anxiety of calculating in my head how much sleep I still have left to do.
Thanks for letting me know. YT Music Morphe is s league above YT Music ReVanced, which hasn’t gotten any new features in forever.
YT Morphe, on the other hand, only seems to be a marginal improvement. I don’t really notice much of a difference beyond minor improvements, even after combing through every setting. Return YouTube Dislike is still broken for Shorts, but at least the ads are gone again.
But anyway thanks again for telling me about it.

41·15 days agoWell to* be fair, Obama only had control of both the senate and the house for his first 72 days. Enough time to get some things done, but not a lot.
But I agree that he could have done more with the power he did hold throughout his presidency, as Trump has shown. Obama could have went buckwild with the executive orders. But alas, hindsight is 20:20.

32·16 days agoOver 70% of the country wants him gone, but from an outsider’s perspective, all they see is the fact that we voted him in.
It’s going to take a very long time to undo the damage caused by Trump. Nobody is ever going to trust the United States again, unless we put safeguards in place to ensure that someone like him can never gain this level of unchecked power ever again. And I just don’t see that happening in any of our lifetimes.
Didn’t the US literally do exactly that last week? Maybe I read the bill wrong.
So what does this mean? I’m shadowbanned for some Lemmy users because I’m too leftist?
Meanwhile I have no idea what everyone is talking about. “Tesseract” huh? Guess I go outside too much…
Or YouTube ReVanced if NewPipe is too confusing and unfamiliar to you.
Well obviously I mean just cracked servers, like how cracked PC games with multiplayer support work. I’m not worried about getting caught.
What’s the worst they’re going to do? Sue me? I’m dirt poor. They have nothing they can take away from me. Any judgment against me I’ll just refuse to pay. Just like the DUI I got back in 2010 when I was young, dumb, and full of cum (FWIW it was for weed; I last smoked 3 nights before I was pulled over but this was before legalization, so simply having it your system was enough back then, even if you’re sober). Or the huge credit card debt I racked up in the late 2000s when I was 18. All debts eventually go away if you ignore them long enough. I have a perfect credit score now.
They’re likely exaggerating, but seriously, every time I go to Costco for a couple of things, I’m spending at least $200. I need to stop falling for the temptation to go inside every time I get gas.
