Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has welcomed the prospect of Canada becoming the first "associate member" of the European Union, as the president of the European Parliament has hinted Australia and New Zealand could follow.

    Though the EU did get uppity about our local feta cheese, because it’s not made in the pedantry region of Greece.

      Even as an associate member, it would still be a requirement for your local version of feta to be named something else, I imagine.

        Yeah, that was the kerfuffle a couple of years ago. Now they’re all called feta-style or some such nonsense.
