Two state is simply a fantasy. We’re going to have one state, but this could take two paths:

    1. full unification and equality, access to religious sites, free movement, etc for all Jewish and Palestinian residents of Israel, including the territories.

    2. annihilation of one side, resulting in a single state

Guess which one I’d prefer and which one we’re heading for.

There is no two state solution. Its one apartheid state that is committing genocide against its people and should be putin its place for doing so.

Israel: “Okay there’s a Palestine. We declare war on Palestine. Oh look, our army’s already there. How convenient. We have annexed Palestine. They’re part of Israel now. You’re welcome.”

That will never* happen, Israel is openly hostile to the idea because there are more Palestinians than Israelis and it would throw off their elections.

      * Ben Gvir would see it happen - but only after they exile/murder all the Palestinians.

A two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is critical for peace, stability and security in the Middle East and beyond.

Bruh the two state solution is how we got here. As long as Israel’s claim is supported, they’ll be trying to expand.

The two state solution has never been enforced, kind of the issue. Many nations don’t even recognize Palestine as a state at all.

Who’s signing up to serve military duty in Gaza?

Not even Arab countries want to commit any military to this kind of thing.

You could argue Iran has been by funding, training, and arming Hamas leading up to the october music festival attack, but they don’t give a fuck about Palestinian lives: their regime benefits from the optics of Israel’s cruelty.

Yeah, you can most definitely argue that, but in these parts you’ll probably get banned for it. Around here it’s all about pretending that an unending cycle of violence will make things better for Palestinians some day.

      Thats…

what a two state solution is…

unless you mean to say Israel should become a territory of Iran or something?

A two-state solution is separating Israel from Palestine. What dudeface is suggesting is that Israel simply stop murdering, oppressing, and otherwise being mean to the Palestinian people, and just be a nation that cares for all citizens within its borders. That is not a two-state solution because there would still only be one state - one that recognizes Palestinians as equal to any other people.

              Thats problematic for two reasons:

              1. Israel decides who is and is not a citizen

              2. Israel considers itself an ethnostate which has so far never tolerated Muslims both within and around their borders.

              3. Let the user speak for themselves

                This is why I specified

one that recognizes Palestinians as equal to any other people.

Yes, we know it’s not likely to happen, but that would be the preferred outcome.

the best time to declare a state is when its rubble I suppose. A state thats a tent city with no way of building infrastructure and will not receive the financial aid it will need because of Oct 7 (every centrist leader will use it as an excuse to not directly aid a state of palestine should it arise) is exactly why western leaders are “brave” enough to announce their two state positions: they’re giving 2 million palestinians a homeland with no future and get to pat each other on the back and take photos

Jared Kushner and Saudi money is going to invest heavily into the reconstruction via the board of peace for the good of the palestinian people for sure…

The world has kind of shyed away from genocide, apartheid, and such due to the many wars and other losses resulting from its mere presence. From WWII to the Straight of Hormuz, nothing good ever comes from it.
