Trades pay very well and don’t require expensive schooling. Inexpensive cars can be readily found (you don’t need a new car). Credit cards don’t charge interest if you pay them off every month (or if you simply avoid them). You don’t need the phone upgrade and eating out is a special event thing, not a regular thing. A house is the only thing you need to go into debt for; and the interest rates for those are much more reasonable then for all the other crap above.
Don’t fall for the keeping up with the Jonses crap. You don’t need whatever it is most people consider the must have or must do.
Funnily having a car is an excellent way to get in debt.
Or buying a farm.
Jakkuh’s store launched with “debt” branding: https://jakkuh.shop/. Found that humerous.
That is great
Funnily enough, not having a car is the best way to always be deeply impoverished and never be able to get ahead in most of the US because you can’t get to a job. Or the grocery store. Or a doctor. Or anywhere else without it being a massive hassle and investment of your limited resources.
Only if you’re stupid and get a massive new car. If you get a small cheap used car, it’ll save you a ton of time and money, especially in Canada and the US where public transit isn’t all that great.
Sure. Driver’s licence, insurance, maintenance of a used car, and endless payments for gas. It saves a ton of money to own a car, sure.
I live in Canada and come from a rural town with no public transit. I moved to a bigger city with public transit. As a bonus it also has a superior bike network compared to other cities of the region. And I’m very glad not to have to pay for tires, to store the winter tires somewhere, oil changes, parking fees, parking tickets, and unexpected issues.
You know what saves more money than an old car? Not having any car at all.
Sure, but that required you to literally uproot your entire life and move to a densely populated city where everything else is more expensive.
Yeah, an inexpensive, reliable car is wildly cheaper than living in a city. Rent alone blows the concept of ‘saving money by moving to the city’ out of the water.
Tbf you do have to occasionally pay for tyres if you use a bike as well. Though I could get an entire used bike for the price of one new car tyre.
If you mange you’re money wel end don’t spend high than you means you don’t need to be in dept
As long as our health is perfect, of course.
Fully deserved for getting a childcrusher, without the slightest consideration for the safety of others.
You need significantly more speed if you want to do that and not live to suffer the consequences.
Surprised this hasn’t been cross-posted to the fuckcars subs yet
It’s all systems of control, money being the most effective one
