    My wife is five years older than me. We met when I was 22. I really thought in the beginning “should I really date a 27 year old? That is so old!”

    Now we love about that.

      if you met today everyone would be telling you how immoral and wrong it is and how she abused you if she was older than you.

      people are weirdly paranoid about age gaps in relationships these days. it’s totally bizarre. social media cooking all of their brains and turning harmless stuff into paranoid delusions of exploitation and abuse.

        That is true, it does happen quite often - especially in reddit; Lemmy does have its share of people who like to turn normalcy into paranoia but at least isnt fully succumbed to the whole ‘logic’.

        It is bizarre, but the constant indoctrination is to blame here.

          Yep, an human interaction simplified into a mathematical “rule” originating from the 1900 for finding a perfect maid - not really the most reliable thing, dont you think.

          There is no need for a pseudo equation to realise that this relationship is fine.
