    That’s what I do but my sister said it can evidently grow mold on the seat cover if you don’t use it for a few days :(

      We keep the lids down on our toilets to keep the dogs and cats out of them. Never seen mold growing on them at all. We have plastic, slow-close lids though. Maybe regular lids are more prone to that?

        I hadn’t had issues either but a lot of people seem to. I don’t have wooden, only plastic, so maybe that is why.

      It’s true, the bathroom connected to our guest bedroom doesn’t get a lot of use. We keep that lid up with the bathroom door closed (to keep the cats out of the water) to avoid the mold. I’ve never encountered that problem on a toilet used even once a week though.
