I get no joy from DIY projects for that reason. And you forgot that halfway through it turns out you need to buy a special tool.
After a few years of homeownership you usually have everything for stuff around the house in the tool room.
I’m just noticing that having a tool room sounds unusual, seeing it written down.

If you keep your tools there, but not your car, guess what? It’s the tool room now!
