Every single country at war does this. My country, the US, “illegally” executed helpless people on alleged drug boats earlier this year. I put “illegally” in air quotes because it doesn’t seem like international law actually exists anymore.
It’s part of war, always has, and always will be.
Most countries don’t execute POWs because they don’t want the other side to execute theirs.
Russia does not care if you execute their POWs.
Modern day America is an exception, because they are rapidly aligning with and mimicking authoritarian countries like Russia and China, and attacking free countries like western Europe.
They don’t present the appearance to have executed POW’s, surely, which is understandable. That’s what black sites are for.
