(Or, hey – one of my favorite conspiracies: Did you ever see Epstein’s body? I didn’t. Maybe they just said he was suicided (perhaps with some poor lookalike soul swapped in for him), but he was actually whisked out of prison and taken to his next island where he could keep offering his services to the rich and powerful.)
If he did this it would kill the extradition treaty we have.
Which considering the USA uses it way more than us would hurt them more.
