I was at a festival in Austria a few years ago when it was about this hot. Like, you stepped on the asphalt and left a footprint hot.

The only thing to drink was beer. If you needed something refreshing you had to drink radler (beer+lemonade, 3%).

I saw 3 people leave in an ambulance. Tons of sunstroke and dehydration. It was a fucking problem.

    It’s expected to be 98-108F / 36-42C.

So yeah, water and weed is probably the better choice.

That said, people that attend Coachella every year are going to look at this and think “first time?”

People that attend Untold, Neversea, and no doubt a whole host of other festivals around the world would look and think “first time?”

The point is very much that yes, for Paris, it is indeed the first time.

That’s kinda the point of climate change. Lots of places will be getting “first times” they’re not prepared for. “Herp derp but Death Valley is hot” is the Fox News formula for dismissing that.

Last time they tried stopping me for weed I was too dumb for them to arrest 🤣 (I’d traveled non-stop from a festival in Spain my brain was so fried i forgot I had hash (known as chocolate in France) in my pocket)

True. But at a concert or festival anywhere in the western world, weed will find a way.

If you’re in France, just look for a chill guy named Zephyr or something. He’ll hook you up. If you’re in the Americas, a Shane will do.

Well I’ll be. For the first time in a while I’m proud of America for being progressive on this.

Indeed. It does appear that the tide of public attitudes is slowly beginning to turn on it, and Marseille is kinda leading the charge on it. From what I heard, a bunch of people in France smoke, but when I was there last month, we didn’t find anything, even in Paris.

I understand the reasoning but I genuinely doubt this will hold and be applied. Sure, they can ban sales but there will be many bringing their own beverages.
