I would argue people deserve to die if they’re sufficient net negative to society. I believe Musk is one of these, as are most, if not all, seriel killers. The issue is determining who these people are, which we won’t all agree on. I don’t think the state should have this power because they get it wrong too often (and also I think their incentives are usually wrong and they benefit from protecting the wealthy).
i woulh rather they be made to personally deal with all the consequences of their actions. do unto others. death is easy, but making these people grasp what they have done is hard.
unfortunately there’s no real way to do that.
