Picture one is a reality though. I have a family member who dedicated a significant portion of his time to looking like atlas himself, and the sorts of people interested in him changed dramatically. Not necessarily more, but definitely a different crowd, both the ones in the hobby (just from proximity) and in his everyday life. I used to jokingly show his pictures to coworkers when the topic of family came up, and got a lot of that sort of reaction.
