This is only tangentially related, but a couple of times, I’ve woken up in bed and been totally convinced I’m in the office. The questions creep in very slowly as my brain stirs – why are the lights off? Am I the last one here? Where’s the equipment? Am I on my ba- you’re in your bed, dipshit.

I guess it’s related to sleep paralysis, and I just happen to have most mundane night terrors ever experienced.

It’s usually related to your dreams. I’ve woken up in a panic and thought I was late for school. Come to realize I’ve been out of school for 15 years and I went to sleep for a nap on my day off 30 minutes prior.

Even less related, I accidentally put my melatonin in the “early morning” slot of my pill divider last week, so every day I woke up after 2-3 hours of sleep and popped some melatonin before work. Also, I don’t generally drink caffeine, so I just pushed through on willpower. Life on challenge mode is brutal.

Sleep paralysis demon visits you and it’s just Bob from marketing asking if you want to go grab lunch with him
