Corporations aren’t some immaterial force of nature, they’re literally just people too. Companies do not have a moral obligation to influence politicians and exploit the system, they only have a fiduciary obligation to their shareholders, but that still doesn’t require them to put profits above all else.

And once again: the people who own and command these corporations are the primary reason why our systems are set up the way they are. Even if corporations were amoral processes as you describe, the capitalist owners are still responsible for this state of affairs!
