Just watched a delirious old man driving a huge suv down two different one way streets yesterday
I hope to die in my sleep, like my grandfather. Not screaming, like his passengers
I once worked for some old guy. He told me that he only drives when his also very old wife is present, because he can hardly even see out of the windshield anymore. Nice
They are out in force on sundays, driving ten under, causing traffic snakes, blocking both lanes, swerving into the bike and opposing lanes. Merging onto highways so slowly that oncoming traffic has to break unexpectedly. So much fun.
True, there aren’t many old drivers who are honking the horn and giving everyone the finger — most of those people die young I guess.
I had to move several states in a big 28’ truck. I wasn’t used to the truck and I wasn’t used to where we stopped for a hotel. I was following GPS and it wanted me to take an onramp that crossed traffic and just… turn sharply.
So I did a 3-point turn in the middle of a busy 4 lane divided highway, blocking about 20 cars for most of the duration of the green light. My wife, who was driving separately and following along told me after got to the hotel that I had several cars of people honking and yelling obscenities and flipping birds. I couldn’t hear or see any of it in that truck. I hope they went on to have a better traffic experience. I might not be so charitable, had I heard them.
I used to get bandied about by old people in their cars during my youth. Now it’s my turn.
Were you stuck behind an old person
I am an old person.
is it wonderful?
Like every stage in life, it has its pros and cons.
