Stopped using Reddit when the API disaster happened. Switched to Lemmy and stayed there for about 2 years. Now, I’m experimenting with Piefed.
Yep. Dialogue should be loud enough that you can comfortably follow the plot without making your ears bleed. Gunfire and music makes that a bit tricky though. Those should be toned down, but I can see why they’re so loud all the time. Most likely many directors want to make the movie feel more impactful and intense, so they just do it by cranking up the volume those other things.
That was hilarious. There were so many videos like that.

I recall seeing a setting in VLC that adjusts volume automatically. Can’t remember wat it was called though.
Don’t forget about the 5G tracking microchip you can easily detect if you bring a metallic items near your arm.
Now that it’s been years since anyone brought this up, it sounds completely insane and stupid. I think someone should have documented all of this absolutely hilarious trash that used to float around the internet during the pandemic. Future generations are not going to believe how wild it got.

Exactly. It’s one of those “I know it when I see it” type of things rather than a solid definition. Like Froot Loops definitely are UPF, but what about a salad in a plastic box? Sure, it’s been through a factory where it got chopped, mixed and packaged. That’s industrial scale food processing too, right?
While watching Tenet, I quickly realized I can’t watch this movie in the normal way. Subtitles were obligatory, but the plot is such a labyrinth that you’ll get lost in no time. I ended up taking notes and referring to some videos that explain what’s actually going on. I also had to jump around the timeline many times. While “watching” the movie that way, I ended up spending several hours. A simple two hour movie became a two day project.
Yes, I know I’m doing it wrong. You’re supposed to just watch it the usual way, be super confused, watch it again, be a little less confused etc. After watching it about 10 times you’ll probably understand what’s going on. If you don’t use subtitles, even 20 times won’t be enough.
