Wait, were the yeerks hats all along?
Wait, were the yeerks hats all along?
My optometrist said not to worry unless I see a “shower of them” suddenly.
I dislike the self censorship, but I don’t mind that it’s half assed. Given that it’s apparently enough to defeat OCR and not meant to demonstrate the morals of the poster, I see no need for the whole ass to get involved.
However, I do appreciate your efforts to reverse the damage.
I briefly worked at a small phone repair shop that didn’t see much foot traffic or get many calls, but we also had a mandatory line to say when answering the phone. I don’t remember the line, but it was a little more than “thanks for calling X, how can I help you?”
Anyway, once I was very tired on shift and got a call, but totally butchered the line, messing it up immediately, then correcting myself with plenty of “uhm” and "sorry, I mean … " added. Eventually I realized there was no recovering, gave up and just stopped talking. After that there was a long silence, followed by the sound of someone laughing their ass off.
Turns out I was fortunate - it was my then-girlfriend calling, rather than a customer or manager or something. When she stopped laughing she said “do you want to try that again?”
I have the same question as your first, but as for the second: probably whatever he’s dropping isn’t the first thing he dropped and other foodstuff has combined to dye the water.
Probably I heard it there, as I played extensively as a kid, but I guess I never absorbed it.
edit: I still am not sure if I like FUTO as a keyboard, but I’m not a fan of it randomly inserting words. Here I have removed one of those.
It took a very long time to find out that “five by five” means “all is well.” In fact, until I looked it up just now to confirm my memory, I didn’t know it was derived from aviation.
For me it was Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver.
This story is reflected in the Book of the Ice trilogy by Mark Lawrence, specifically the last book; I thought the perspective of the Arctic characters interesting, but exaggerated.
Though I sympathize with those in that position, it’s good to know the book didn’t lie.
You ever read House of Stairs by William Sleator?
Flattered to have earned the distinction! I’m not as prolific as some, but I’m always around and have talked about my username at least five times, so it’s not surprising that you would have made note of it.
This is an unusual way to make a “your mom” joke.
My kid is just getting into gaming and I made sure to encourage them to game on PC for just this reason. They still prefer the console but understand a mouse and keyboard.
They can’t really read yet, but once they can I plan to start including them in my non gaming PC activities to make sure they’re comfortable in that environment.
I had a few - not a lot, but some - user notes, but recently switched phones (and to GrapheneOS) and lost them. I used and use Connect, which does have an export/import process, but when I start it I can’t find a way to actually begin the export, i.e. generate the file.
As such, I’m stuck recreating notes by hand. Still, I enjoy creating new ones, as I just did for you, and I love the aspect of Lemmy that you described.
I haven’t been to a Good Will in quite some time, but when I used to go, Guitar Hero controllers of all types were plentiful and cheap.
FWIW, though I would have guessed Calckey was a calculator app, your image did work.
Grew up fortunate in almost every conceivable way, probably didn’t properly appreciate it enough, had some good friends, probably didn’t appreciate them enough, was lonely but comfortable for a while, eventually met my wife and had my kid and am trying hard to appreciate them right because they’re both wonderful.
That’s my best guess, yeah.
