I would call it more of a retention tool than compression, as a lot of it is flowery and excessive in length for certain purposes even though other works do compress complex topics into a concise format. The format makes both approaches easier to recall.

If people are aware that the media is manipulating them and they’ve been shown concrete examples then it stands to reason that they will get better at this the more they do.
That isn’t how it works when they were stupid enough to fall for it the first time.

Saying you deradicalized a half dozen people is bragging that you got some children to settle down for an hour. It is extremely likely that they just say nice things in front of you to shut you up while continuing the same thing when you aren’t watching.
Pattern recognition is one of humanity’s most important survival traits even though it has a ton of false positives. We just really like putting things into categories.
