I dunno why you’re getting down voted. As an Okinawan, I mostly agree with your point.

Ugh. I’m going to vote now but it kills me to think that my vote won’t really change anything to prevent this. At least I’ll bring my kids to show them how it all works.

I had to Google. There’s no way I would have known that, my bad!

This makes no sense lol

Over tourism isn’t necessarily people being dickheads. Most people are probably just like you: respectful and appreciative of our culture. It’s just that there are way too many of you guys. And that’s really not your fault. The Japanese government and the corporations did not try at all to promote and grow the industry in a sustainable way and us normies were too complacent until shit got too annoying.
I’m Okinawan and I don’t even go to my old favourite spots anymore because it’s too packed everywhere and most of the places I liked are gone anyway — they got replaced by lame tourist traps.
There’s no easy answer to the situation but you know what makes a difference (for me, at least)? It’s when tourists try to engage with us locals instead of treating us and our culture as the background to their content to share on Instagram.
But retro computing is in now. Should have swiped it!
I’m gonna start wearing ram around my neck to show how rich I am.

What do you mean? Asahi shinbun is a big news company in Japan and they probably grabbed the domain way before the beer company would have even needed a website.
It does remind me of Superman.

As someone living in Japan… I honestly couldn’t give a single dusty sprinkle of a shit as long as the animals aren’t hurt during the move. People are so weirdly attached to pandas.
Right, I get that scarcity is what makes it a good store of value, but is what I said not a risk worth considering? Is that why price keeps going up? Let’s say an entity decides to dump gold, does the US have any say in whether that can happen or not? Could they?
Sorry for the questions, I’m just genuinely curious/concerned. This is all so complex for my brain.
I noticed that they mentioned an alternative to gold along with US Treasuries. I’m wondering why gold keeps going up in value when a good chunk of it is in the US and the US is the one causing all this uncertainty. How could I trust the US to keep my gold?

They apparently uninvited Canada after our primi minister’s speech. Honestly, an uninvitation is like the greatest honour we can receive from that guy.

For a group of people who hate trans women for not being “real women,” they sure seem OK with bajillions of 1s and 0s identifying as a woman.

Damn. Not just one interrobang, but two?

How the hell would he know about the frontlines lol

It’s a board of peace of shit countries
The US left though.
