I’ve read that a lot of users, including youth, don’t really understand file systems because modern computers don’t make you.

Personally I think just letting people live in ignorance is a mistake. Some people can’t be helped but I think many could, if presented with learning opportunities, if the default wasn’t bad.

The CEO at my old company really likes the expression “Let’s fucking go” for some reason. Lots of “LFG” in the work chat. I guess he eats a lot of LinkedIn slop or something.

But to me, “LFG” means looking for group. I’m sitting here like why is the CEO spamming for group content during the work day, and he’s not even saying what role he’s playing.

I think I wrote this recently elsewhere, but I just never drink nor desire soda. It just doesn’t even occur to me as a thing to want. When I was a kid, we mostly drank water. It’s kind of alienating to realize how many other people are seemingly fundamentally different on such a basic part of life like “drinking”

I really want that fundraiser site to be breached so we can find out who the assholes are donating to him. Fire all of them, too. Ruin their presumably already shitty lives.

I got laid off back like six months ago. Job market is bad.

And yet billionaires are still living the life and the stock market ticks upwards.

As the other person said, it really depends on what people mean by “strict”.

My parents were “strict” in that they enforced a bed time. Now I have better than average sleeping habits. So that worked out.

But I’ve also read about “strict” parents that, like, take doors off their kids rooms, or read the kids private messages, or other nightmares

Oh yeah I forgot about that. One of the banks here refunds ATM fees if you have a minimum balance of $2500 (and waives the monthly fee if you have $25,000). Like, my guys, the people who don’t have money need that fee waived a lot more. But the bank just wants to make money and that means appealing to rich people.

Sometimes I get mad about how we in practice have basic income for the rich. If you have a few million dollars, you can park it in zero or low risk investments (eg: high yield savings, bonds) and get free money. Then you can just fuck off and pursue your dreams. No risk. Lots of reward.

But if you’re poor? Well you better take any job for any salary or you’re just a parasite blah blah blah. All pain, some risk, little reward.
