Fans of the “Well there’s your problem” podcast will probably recognize the song. This thing gets increasingly gory as it goes. I think there’s an argument that not shying away from the brutality is a more effective message.

So I don’t really know a lot about comic books, or the Fantastic Four in general. Did they really make Susan Storm a member of the hero team, and then promptly make her a damsel in distress?

Not a lot of debate among scholars. There’s no other evidence of the “eye of the needle” being used in a way that refers to the small doorway in a larger city gate or any of the other alternative readings. The modern reinterpretation is often argued by the exact same people who say you’re not supposed to “read between the lines” of the Bible.

And don’t get me started on Paul’s “the love of money is the root of all evil”. Just totally bastardized for the Prosperity Gospel.

Trump dismantled US soft power. A lot of it happened in his first term, Biden built back some of it around the invasion of Ukraine, but Trump II has destroyed it further.

Which is great if you ignore everything else.

This is a very common hypocrisy among first gen US immigrants. I’m a good Irish, not like those dirty ones coming over now; we should keep them out.

That whole war was a setup to take land from Mexico. We do not need to remember it with fondness any better than Vietnam or Iraq.

It was mostly Silents/Greatest generations who were doing that kind of cooking. They were only feeding it to Boomers. In fact, Greatest gen should probably get more flak for making Boomers the way they are. They were super horny and literally fucked the Boomers into existence, but didn’t know what to do beyond that.

Sometimes, I don’t know how America avoided a collective heart attack before Kennedy was assassinated.
