“I don’t hate you, but I will act within my power to oppress you.”
It is hate. That famous christian “love” is abuse.
I was abused by my christian parents.
I would like to live long enough to see humanity mature out of superstition and free the world from human greed.

Did god write it, or not? Why intentionally leave in any confusing mistakes? He must not be all-powerful.

Then, what follows is that whatever Jesus taught is in fact true, so eg, we should love our neighbours. Then since He quoted the Old Testament and also appointed disciples and spoke of the Holy Spirit, it’s worth concluding that these writings are also true.
This is a crazy lapse of logic.
Magic isn’t real. It’s a death cult.

Was it ever good to own slaves? How could it be?
Yet your god supposedly told his people that beating your slave is A-OK, even if they don’t get up for a couple of days, as long as they don’t die immediately.

The foundation of christianity is lying to control people.
I don’t care what flavor the poison is, it is still poison.
You think the prosperity gospel and southern baptism is wrong, but your interpretation is correct? How do you verify?

Anything else is just making shit up, which gets people killed needlessly.

I am in favor of making decisions based on measurable evidence.

I was curious about his motivation, so I did some reading to find out.
In a video he made some time before the attack, he was very upset about someone stealing a USB stick from his mailbox. He’s former muslim, anti-islam, pro-Israel, and generally right wing, though he called himself a leftist. He admires Alex Jones and Elon Musk. He tried to get close to the AfD while atheist organizations distanced themselves from him due to his extreme views. He tried to explain his motive for the vehicle attack during the trial, but was rambling, incoherent, disconnected.
He was sentenced to life in prison, which seems reasonable to me.

Having lived in the US all my life, I think the public reaction to cattle poison spray would be “well, as long as I can’t taste it in the meat.”
I wish we all had more empathy for the life we share this planet with.

I am against religion and the idea of gods, as well as every other superstition.
I wish everyone would quit making shit up and focus on reality.

I can’t imagine this horror.
On 19 February, the family arrived at Xinhua Hospital to sign the consent document and run some tests on Mei’s blood. The form described thrombotic microangiopathy as a possible outcome that would require “prompt treatment.” The children’s version—the one with the “book” metaphor—asked Mei herself to check a box marked yes or no. “If you don’t want to write,” it told her, “you can draw a smiley face instead of your name.”
After 3 days, Mei developed a fever, a common reaction to AAVs that was expected to last for a couple days. Qiu swung by as her fever began to wane. He assured Jason and Linda that their daughter’s condition would soon improve.
It was the exact sequence of symptoms that the consent form had warned the family about. But nowhere did the form explicitly indicate that any of this could end in death, nor did that come up during any conversations with Qiu or the other doctors, Jason and Linda say.
Death is always a possibility, especially when it comes to untested procedures. But to leave that possibility off of the consent form? Wildly negligent.
The results are heartbreaking.
“Mom, I want to go home,” she told her mother, before vanishing into the ward.
Within days of their daughter’s death, Jason and Linda moved into a hotel and, later, a new apartment. Locked away in the old apartment was all their furniture and their daughter’s possessions. They also cut off contact with some of their closest friends. “I don’t know how to reply to them, so I pretend not to see their messages,” Linda says. “I am not so brave to face everything.”
They recalled that when Mei’s birthday came around earlier this year, they said nothing to each other, though they both assumed it was on the other’s mind.
“We do not discuss that,” Linda said.
Linda finally told her husband how she had spent that day. While he was at work, she finally returned to the old apartment and sat down on Mei’s bed surrounded by all her things. She had purchased a chocolate cupcake on the way and now picked at it as she imagined that her daughter was still at her side.
By the time she finished telling her story, Jason was welling up. Linda glanced over at him tenderly. “My husband didn’t know this,” she said. “I cannot cry every day, but that day, I think, I can cry in the room.”
😢
Or a man and his many wives? Including slaves?
The bible is human bullshit. It exists to normalize abuse. You took the bait and we all suffer for your failing.
