If you want to turn on the light, you first have to reach over and turn on the light switch…
Just put your hand on its flippy thing and turn it on. You know it’s turned on with its point upwards. (Usually)
It’s surprising easy… lol
Thanks to the YouTube channel Cheap RV Living, I was able to live in a small SUV for several months while traveling to move. It was amazing to experience that and meet so many interesting people during travels.
I use thumb drives on my Bluetooth speaker. Different playlists on each.
I still use CDs, it’s a way to own the music, and it doesn’t play ads. Oh and no subscriptions
I used to have the same thing, until someone broke in and stole it. Ever sense then I had burned CDs in the car. My current car has MP3 ability so I have 300 songs on a CD.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•I hate how inescapable politics are on Lemmy, but at least nobody's constantly asking how blind people wipe their butt or pick up their dog's poop then completely ignoring me when I try to answer.
3·7 months agoI’m sorry to hear that. I had a friend in college born without eyes. I talked a lot with him about concepts like shapes and colors. He was able to tell how much battery the electric carts on campus had by the sound of the motor, it’s quite interesting. I guess you might have an easier time than someone that lost their vision. I now have a friend that went blind after a car accident, he gets a lot of help from neighbors. He try’s very hard to do things himself, but often needs help. I hope you have a good support network for the things you need in life.

In my neighborhood, I’m the backup for the backup DIY guy, but people are starting to see where I specialize in, so eventually I will start getting jobs that the others can’t do as well. Soon I will be the specialist for certain things.
Rich people also get handed so many free things.
Put over $100,000 in the bank and they will throw free accounts, low interest credit cards, rewards, free safety deposit boxes, personal concierge services. And that’s just the start.
