It’s more so their government and the people supporting it. There are plenty of Israelis not in love with this and even protesting it. It’s how I also dislike what’s happening to the Uyghur, Tigrayan, Darfur, Rohingya people in China, Ethiopia, Sudan, and Myanmar. Unfortunately there are currently multiple genocides and the perpetrators should be held accountable.

World News@lemmy.world•Israel hit by wave of Iranian missiles. Iranian military says: "This is the beginning of a full week of continuous strikes"English
61·9 hours agoYeah fear, anger, greed, and resentment are much lower emotional local entropy states for us. Getting over that hill into a true global minimum is a doozy. It’s so scary we often prefer the familiar needless and avoidable suffering.

World News@lemmy.world•Israel hit by wave of Iranian missiles. Iranian military says: "This is the beginning of a full week of continuous strikes"English
102·10 hours agoI can’t wait until the point where it’s a full week of continuous peace and wellbeing we are sending one another. It will take a lot of healing and forgiveness to get there but I believe humanity is strong and brave enough to manage one day.
It’s both limiting and refreshing. You need to be comfortable with less or at least in my circumstance I do. Also the more I’ve traveled I’ve learned there’s nowhere perfect, everywhere has its gotchyas, its hangups (particularly when it seems like there’s none at first) so you have to make your peace with that. I’ve been around the US and the world, was hunting for that perfect place for a long time. It’s like they say, it’s inside you, not outside.
Lol maybe Plato’s cave but legit out here in a third world country.

The problem is they regenerate like bamboo. You chop one down and another sprouts up.
Hey I had a 2004 Honda, it was awesome. Sure I could have gotten a loan and gotten something worth like 40K+ but why? 3K and I was getting 40mpg freeway and it was an absolute champion.
Good thing wages have tripled to make up the difference /s
Just somewhere rural in an undeveloped country. That said there’s perks to being here. Huge delicious avocados half the size of my head for $0.70, actually all the produce is so much better. Also it’s somehow more free. You want to live off grid? You want to build a structure, go for it. There’s no such thing as zoning or getting permits for most things. Also no government tracking, they don’t have the resources for any of that.
There’s no such thing as Home Depot here

World News@lemmy.world•More than half of Latin Americans deported from US to Congo are now back homeEnglish
14·15 hours agoMore than half of the 15 Latin Americans deported in April to Congo under the Trump administration’s widely criticized crackdown on migrants have returned to their countries of origin. (From the article, first sentence)
The Trump administration announced that over 605,000 undocumented immigrants were deported or removed from the United States during the first several months of his term. Link
During Trump’s first term, ICE carried out a total of 935,000 to 1.5 million removals. more than 90% of those impacted by recent interior arrests and detentions are from Latin America, led by Mexico (approx. 54%), Guatemala (15%), and Honduras (11%).
The title is ever so slightly misleading omitting the 15 which wouldn’t have taken much space in the title. As it’s written it sounds like much more than eight or nine people. This is 0.0016% of the deported people this term.

World News@lemmy.world•North Korea calls the US push for its denuclearization ‘anachronistic dream’English
201·15 hours agoI mean we’ve all seen what good it did for Ukrain when Russia super pinky promised never to invade if they gave up their nukes. I don’t think anyone is going to make that mistake again.
I’m not in a location like that right now. Maybe I could have my motorbike guy grab something but there’s not much around like that. That’s to say I’m not in an area with Amazon, UPS, Uber eats, and such. There’s no online shopping around here.

World News@lemmy.world•Starmer suggests US 'trying to interfere in our democracy' after Vance blames UK teen's death on mass migrationEnglish
11·19 hours agoThe US has influence, don’t doubt that but at the same time it’s not really direct. The US isn’t trading the construction of roads or ports for access to natural resources. Link1
For reference, multiple western electronics manufacturers have turned away from using cobalt due to the horrific conditions in mining even though the Chinese mining companies continually assure partners they aren’t in breach of human rights.
China prefers control through soft power, the US is much more direct guns in your face type power. It’s very indicative of their cultures.
Plot twist, he becomes the most ruthless chicken at raising and slaughtering chickens to squeeze out more profits.
And all the people giving them money. Don’t forget! Every dollar is a vote. I always wished carrot mob became more of a movement aka people grouping together to wield their money for better outcomes like shopping at more green or ethical businesses.

So wipe em all out and the people who aren’t in support are just unlucky by association?
