Another example is Luigi Mangione, everyone already thinks he did it, when there’s no evidence and only “evidence” it was him

Is it better to let every single criminal go free so that you do not have to go to prison?

While that is a wild example that will never happen, I’m not a martyr nor planning/wanting to be one, so likely yes, I’d sacrifice a whole lot to protect my own life and willing to bet many others would too if they had to make that choice.

For most, there’s no point in making the world a better place by sacrificing your own life, because you won’t be around to see it. Yes, something about planting a tree whose shade you’ll never sit in…
