I mean, gotta start somewhere. I too would like to see more direct action in play but we’re trying to motivate nations here, tens or hundreds of millions of people.

Take no kings, I get that it’s been toothless, but it built a large following and the next one is calling for action. It probably won’t work, probably won’t be enough, but it will build momentum, and the next gets more, the next more still. This is obviously US focused (I’m American but this shit has gone global).

It took them a very long time to infiltrate the governments, this has been going on for decades. We won’t be able to solve it in a weekend. It’s going to take time and hard work to fix this shit.

He’s just been itching to use a nuke since his first term. He has talked about it, joked, even suggested it might be on the table. Let history be your guide, this asshole has a pattern. I’m scared as hell.

Aside… I totally agree with your original post. 40 years I’ve been bitching about my awful family. For 39, the rest of them have been telling me what an asshole I am for speaking my mind. For some reason, they have been agreeing with me more and more over the past year.

I have. I’m working on consolidating and figuring out a plan. I’m admittedly less astute financially than I should. Didn’t really expect all this shit to happen.

I’m late 40’s right now, always assumed social security was a pipe dream so I’ve diligently put away money in 401ks and IRA’s. I no longer believe they will be worth anything much longer.

Was a nice country, for a little while, at least that’s what my parent’s generation tells me, I’ve never been here for it.

Right, it’s not just capitalism, many systems reward such behavior. But we are in a capitalist society now, that does not work for those reasons. Yes, bad laws and regulations are the problem, but they are there because the unscrupulous set them in favor of themselves.

I’m no fan any ism, they are frameworks that all need careful, strong laws and regulations. Don’t get me wrong, some are better starting points but it takes diligence and an engaged populace to keep them working.

The problem is, normal people got complacent while the malignant ones continued to ruthlessly play the game.

What got us here is a complicated but simple story. Those without morals have no problem cheating the system and using other people. Capitalism rewards this behavior so it as inevitable that the unscrupulous will continue to vacuum up the money and power. We are experiencing the end game of this social construct.

Yes, just because they also voted for racism, doesn’t absolve them of the rest of the plainly obvious shit they were voting for. Racism is expensive.

There is no such thing as a good billionaire. There are billionaires who might be temporarily aligned with you but make no mistake, none of them will love you back…

The problem is, masculinity has been turned into a performative art these days. To the culture obsessed with masculinity, you have to fall in line, wear the clothes, support the right people…. What they don’t get is that this is the least masculine behavior possible.

Seriously, look at the “masculine” types, they all are groomed, their trucks are all spotless, they go to work and sit in the same chairs as the rest of us; but think their fascist adjacent clothing makes them look tough. I see nothing but insecure manchildren.

I wish I could disagree but every day when I try to talk about it, or get people to do something about it with me, so far 100% of time I get pushback for being alarmist, or that it’s fine, we’ll just vote better next time.

It’s more than just the apathy, it’s willing apathy, desired apathy, WEAPONOZED apathy. That’s the problem, those in control know they are working against the will of the people, but they also know the people are to scared, distracted, lazy and stupid to do anything about it.
