Italy's Competition Authority (AGCM) has imposed a €98.6 million ($116 million) fine on Apple over its App Tracking Transparency feature. Since the release of iOS 14.5 in April 2021, Apple has required apps to ask for permission before tracking a user's activity across other apps and websites for personalized advertising, as part of a feature named App Tracking Transparency.
Yeah well fuck Italy on this one, this sounds like big ad hold office there. Then they have the nerve to complain that Apple doesn’t track users across websites so that’s unfair to apps that do. Get wrecked.
Ps. For those saying macrumors is some unknown site- it’s been a reputable Mac news and rumor tracking site for nearly 30 years, so get bent.
Italy is ruled by fascists. OG, Mussolini-heritage fascists. Are we really surprised?
