In all seriousness, it’s very common for people to want to quit their meds because they don’t think they need them.

You think you don’t need them because they’re working, and if you stop taking them, they will stop working.

it’s just that when i went off them in june i started to feel things and have interests, which hadn’t happened since 2009, before i went on bipolar meds. i was miserable through grad school and got fired twice for incompetence and haven’t worked in a decade. when i went off lithium it felt like being alive for the first time in 16 years

It’s fair what you’re feeling and experiencing.

Please talk that over with a medical doctor, not with strangers on the internet. I would hate for you to do something that puts your health or safety at risk. I’ve seen it happen too many times to too many friends who underestimated the risks of going off medication.

Feel free to DM me if you’re having trouble connecting with a doctor for any reason, whether it’s personal or logistical.
