One of the tankers, Skipper, was seized by American forces in the Caribbean last week in a sharp escalation by the Trump administration.

At least 34 U.S.-sanctioned oil tankers with a history of carrying Venezuelan oil are currently at sea in the Caribbean, according to a new analysis obtained by CNBC on Wednesday.

    It was head to Cuba when it was captured. It had already transported oil to Iran. From the article:

    The tanker, which transported oil from Venezuela and Iran, has been sanctioned by the U.S. for years “due to its involvement in an illicit oil shipping network supporting foreign terrorist organizations,”

    This ship was sanctioned years ago under Biden not Trump.
