A 22-year-old German politician who secretly served in Ukraine's army now faces expulsion from the pro-Russian Alternative for Germany party after calling his own leadership "Russia-kissers."
AfD or not, serving in a foreign army is a felony in German criminal law. You might even lose your Geman nationality (if you have a second one). Anyone to consider this guy a “hero” should be aware that it’s primarily German neo-nazis who decided to join the war deliberately. His AfD membership obviously points in the same direction.

I’m unaware of any law prohibiting that. IIRC, it’s illegal to be a mercenary. But serving in a foreign military under the same terms as their own professional soldiers is legal.
