I’m a lead software engineer for a SaaS company. Normally, any interactions I have with my team or any external software vendors or integrations are generally very fast and to the point.

In my latest project though, we’re getting a boatload of money to add a few features to the software specifically for one client.

The meetings about this with the salespeople and corporate execs are fucking mind numbing.

Anyone who will speak has to be introduced and give their background, even if this same stupidly massive crowd has met 3x before. There’s at least 30 or more people in the call even though it’s like me and 5 others speaking ever.

And every time someone addresses someone they do it like this, by first name slowly, with some stupid like “hello 8 year old. From one 8 year old to another, it is your turn to speak.”
