The Democratic Party didn’t lose due to a lack of funds, so there’s no reason to believe more money would’ve helped. If anything, which democratic candidates they donated to is likely to be the damning detail.
According to opensecrets.org, Levi’s themselves didn’t donate anything, but some of their senior figures donated a few thousand each as private individuals. They did however spend a quarter million a year on lobbying on trade-related bills to make sure the rules were written in their favor. They might not be Republicans, but they are not the good guys either.
