Media organisations in Ireland and UK also affected as apparently coordinated effort to cause chaos continues

A fresh wave of bomb threats has disrupted air traffic across Europe but the affected planes landed safely and searches revealed no explosive devices.

The latest alerts affected at least 18 flights to or from Bulgaria, Czechia, France, Italy, Hungary, Cyprus, Romania, the UK and Portugal. Danish police investigated a threat against Copenhagen airport but the airport said it was operating normally.

The warnings followed separate threats on Tuesday and Thursday that forced at least 35 flights to be diverted or searched, raising questions over an apparently coordinated effort to cause chaos for travellers.

I’ve always wondered why bomb threats are taken so seriously… How many times has a bomb threat proved real? How many bombers risk their lives to make and plant a bomb and then just call and say “I’ll use it but only if you can’t find it within an hour – fair’s fair”?

Because that one time they do ignore a bomb threat and your family are all massacred I’m sure you’d be a bit annoyed.

The IRA used to warn the UK police about bombs some of the time, they even had codewords so the police knew it was legit.

The warnings came when they wanted to make a statement but weren’t intending to hurt people.

Although they killed and injured thousands over the years.

The IRA are the reason why you won’t find litter bins in transit stations.

No, there are bins at most train stations too small to have full-time cleaners you hand rubbish to, but they’re see-through so anything suspicious is seen and reported to “see it say it sorted”.

This may be one of those cases where the cure can become as harmful as the disease, but to do anything about it would mean making really controversial grey-zone decisions about where the line is drawn. Which nobody wants to make, so the cure can get administered long past the point where it does more harm than good.

Did you just ignore the bit where I said on some occasions they weren’t intending to kill anyone which is why they warned the police ahead of time?

I certainly hope the times that they decide to skip checking are when you’re on a plane and not me.

Your guess is as good as mine, but you’d look like a realllll douche if you were in charge, disregarded a bomb threat, and then someone blew up. I think that’d play a big factor in it.

It may also simply be codified in their policies to treat them all as real threats to avoid any guesswork or considerations. I’m not sure how prevalent these fake calls were when the rules were initially setup, but it’s clearly being abused now and their policies should be rexamined if that’s the case.

Because there’s always the possibility that it’s a real threat and if it just so happens that it is a real threat a lot of people die.

First the refrigerators, now the airlines.

The Russians are showing Europe why they are incapable of defending themselves.

The EU is as war and refuses to acknowledge it.

Bit of a soft response from Russia though isn’t it? The EU is providing billions to Ukraine in advanced weaponry, ammunition, logistics and information.

Russia is now stuck in Ukraine with about 250,000 dead Russians on the conservative end and the EU has some spoilt food and a few people missed their holidays. The EU hasn’t even lost a soldier in this war and don’t think they have too much to be afraid of a busted Russian army relying on donkeys for logistics.

You carry on being a scared little baby if you like though, I don’t care.
