I had this exact experience on Lemmy, on blahaj actually, when a mod banned me for trying to give an honest and inclusive answer. Apparently I was feeding the trolls and banned as some kind of zero tolerance thing? No idea what happened but it reminded me of the Reddit mods who are irrationally angry at anyone who isn’t 100% aligned with their world view.
Blahaj has a very strict stance. I thought it was a bit much at first myself, but their instance doesn’t have the same feel of those snobbish reddit/lemmy communities that ban anyone who doesn’t agree with their top posters/mods. Their intense moderation is meant to encourage participation which sounds paradoxical but does seem to be working.
This account was made when I first left Reddit and had no help figuring out Lemmy. I have learned a lot about the community and other instances and found them mostly the same with the psy-op instances being the same flavor of authoritarian messaging. Once you know what to look for it becomes really obvious.
Blahaj was the curve. Didn’t expect militant transfeminism. I see why it evolved and understand they are recovering from trauma so they need their space but damn, they don’t like allies who reach out.
As an Omniscient Godlike entity, I don’t get what you mean. /J
But /srs for a moment like I agree, like .ml .world are the biggest instances, they’re gonna be the first ones most new users go to when joining Lemmy & you’re not rlly gonna know what you get on an instance 'til you’ve joined Lemmy.

So you went to .world, to avoid overzealous and unnecessary bans and moderation. Lol.

It’s very possible the user didn’t know.
Sometimes people don’t know things and that’s ok.
You don’t know some things.
I hope this helps.

Blahaj is one of the best instances. You must’ve had a dogshit opinion. Which is fine. I’ve been there too
