I usually explain people voting for Trump on having evil intentions. But evil alone cannot explain Latinos voting for Trump, that must be a special kind of stupid.

People vote for demagogues because they’re scared, and the demagogue offers a plan. They don’t see that they’re scared because the demagogue frightened them on purpose, and they don’t see that the plan won’t work. They see something that scares them and someone that offers to fix it.
Democrats are horrifically bad at this. They’ve been on defense since 1998 and only barely got ahead for a few years at the beginning of Obama’s first term. They haven’t caught up since.
