The modern day prophets are our comedians. Im thinking of people like Stephen Colbert and John Stewart, but there are many more people prepared to go out on a limb and say what needs to be said.
And then you have many churches (I won’t say all, because I know it’s not) who seem to clown around behind Trump and tell him what he wants to hear, and they bring their adoring fans with them.
All this is to say that we’ve turned our prophets into clowns and our comedians into prophets.
Comedians are modern day jesters. They can call bullshit to the faces of powerful people and say the things no one else would dare. It’s probably not much of a stretch for them to do the right things too if they’re given the reins of power.
I think you’re onto something.
