oh you just reminded me of the a$ap rocky assault case from 2019 during trump I, wherein he personally called up the then-minister for state of sweden and threatened sanctions if the guy wasn’t released while at the same time offering to post bail. the minister had to explain to him that not only does sweden, like most democracies, not have a bail system, it is explicitly illegal for statesmen to attempt to influence the courts.
the committee is selected by parliament so it’s not like they have nothing to do with it.
