A NEW FREEDOM FLOTILLA, led by the aptly named Tenacity, set sail from Bristol, UK in September and headed for Gaza in yet another attempt to break Israel’s siege and blockade of Gaza.

A significant percentage of the ship’s passengers and crew—whose countries of origin include Denmark, Norway, Spain, Ireland, France, the United Kingdom, the United States and Palestine (currently residing in Sweden)—have been kidnapped, detained and tortured by Israeli soldiers on previous Gaza-bound solidarity missions. Nevertheless, they are determined to challenge Gaza’s isolation.

Captain Tomás Alberto Moraté Serna, who hails from Spain, is the captain of the Tenacity. He was kidnapped, brutalized, tortured and deported by Israel in April 2026. He explained that he is back for the same reasons he joined the Gaza mission in the first place: “I am not happy with what I see in the world, and I need to do my part” to transform it.

They arent standing up to anyone. This is the equivalent of someone chaining themselves to the front of an oil refinery and getting removed in 5 mins once work starts.

They arent standing up to anyone.

They are standing up to Israel that is killing thousands on thousands of unarmed civilians, and murder journalists and humanitarian workers so they can continue their genocide

Apologists of these crimes are scum and a waste of time

No they arent. They are farming donations to fund a lifestyle they find fun. The activism is ineffective and advances nothing. They sail there knowing the will be intercepted and detained for a few days before being sent home.

There are groups that bring supplies in and distribute it. They do real work helping Palestinian people and there is a risk of them being killed. They could use the help and the publicity.
