Not all women are into astrology, but all the people who are into astrology are women.

Actually, they’re a very specific and weird subset of women. They almost always have these traits:

    • In their late teens to early/mid 20s
    • Into “witchcraft” unironically
    • Too into celebrity gossip
    • Think yoga and meditation is sacred
    • Have a completely delusional and out of touch view of Buddhism and Hinduism
    • Have at least one of the following: Comically proportioned glasses, excessive piercings, unnatural hair colors, “spiritual” tattoos
    • Think they’re an “artist” of sorts

I’ve yet to meet an astrology fan who didn’t have at least 80% of these.

Your unscientific categorization of women archetypes is hilariously closer to astrology than you realize.

The one I dated was in her early 20’s,

Was not into witchcraft or celebrity gossip.

      Didn’t do yoga or meditate.

Couldn’t have told you the first thing about Buddhism or Hinduism.

      Wore regular glasses

No piercings or tattoos or funny colored hair.

She is an artist with real talent. Her skills with an airbrush are still amazing. But she’s more into designing and making jewelry these days. To be fair, we did need to have a discussion about painting the basement door a purple color with white and yellow flowers one time.

46 years later, she no longer reads the astrology column in the news paper

Cares even less about witches or celebrates

      Still no yoga or meditation

      Still wears regular glasses

No piercings of tattoos. She doesn’t even dye her to cover the gray anymore.

Still clueless about Far East religions

But, her artistic talents are still on display. Though I wish she would pick up her sketch pad and air brush more these days. I miss her cuddled up next to me on the couch on a cold winter’s night and quietly sketching away while I watch. And her artistic skills live on through our Daughters.
