Also, 24h clock and yyyy-mm-dd only.
Implement official status for French in Ontario and switch to A4 paper.
13 months of 28 days each.
…and right after 28.13. there is 1 day which ain‘t part of any month so everyone can celebrate the new upcoming year.
yyyy-mm-dd?
All hail IS0 8601
The proper date fromage
The only acceptable date. Is the alternative raisins?
People are weird.
This is the official date format in Canada. Unfortunately you often see aa/bb/yyyy, and good luck figuring whether “aa” is the day and “bb” the month (British-style) or vice versa (American-style, and significantly stupider because it doesn’t follow a clear endianess)
I feel like from shortest to longest would make the most sense, wouldn’t it? Especially since you don’t need the year often times. American style is actually crazy.
DD-MM-YYYY is what is most commonly used in Europe, and in my opinion it is perfectly acceptable and logical to use.
But YYYY-MM-DD does have one major benefit that makes it extremely useful for archival purposes. When you sort it alphabetically, it also sorts correctly by date.
You can even keep going and use YYYY-MM-DD HH:mm:SS…
I’d say biggest first is a more natural extension of our numbering system, like in the number 5,678 the digit on the left represent the biggest unit, of thousands. You can still omit the year without ambiguity. But it doesn’t really matter as long as there is a standard way that makes sense, unlike the mess we have now.
Context anyone?
Canada still uses imperial for height, weight and cooking.
What truth social post was this?
The meme is based on Trump ending metric for Interstate 19
My thought:“Now what?”
Our ovens and stoves must use metric for less trade conflicts with Europe.
No, they have to move to metric a 100% to be normal.
Nah, just to annoy the U.S.
Even in the US, food and drink products have both imperial and metric units for serving size and quantity/weight.
USian here. I flip flop between the two systems depending on what I am doing. At work we use metric for temperatures and dimensional measurements except for when we measure dimensions in inches (different drawings from different engineers). In cooking, if I’m using a recipe, I use what the recipe uses. If no recipe, I cook by intuition, lol. Home carpentry or machining projects always metric. Modeling for my 3D printer, always metric. Buying weed has somehow always been both. Driving is miles, weather temps are fahrenheit.
